When you ask for quotes
The quote form collects what you type into it: your name, your phone or WhatsApp number, your city or area, your car, the job and any details you add. With it we record the page you sent it from, how you first reached the site (the landing page, the referring website and any campaign tags in the link), your country and whether you used a phone, tablet or computer. We do not record your IP address with it. If you attach photos, they are sent with the form to FormSubmit for delivery to our inbox; our database keeps only their file names.
The form is delivered to our inbox by FormSubmit, an email delivery service, and a copy is kept in our own database, hosted by Cloudflare. If you message us on WhatsApp or email us instead, we receive your number or address and what you send. WhatsApp is run by Meta under its own terms.
What we do with it
- Answer your request, and ask workshops that can do the job for a quote.
- Contact you about that request.
- Count which pages lead to enquiries, so we can improve them.
- Keep the forms free of spam.
Who sees it
We share the details you give us with workshops that can quote for the job, because that is what you asked us to do. The services that run the site for us (FormSubmit, Cloudflare and our email provider) process it on our behalf. We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to anyone for their own marketing. We will disclose information if the law requires it.
What we count without knowing who you are
We count page views and taps on the WhatsApp, call, map and form buttons: the page, the button, the workshop named on a card, how you reached the site, your country and your type of device. None of it carries your name, your number or your IP address. We use no third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
What stays on your device
The place you choose, the workshops you save and your last six searches are kept in your browser's local storage and are never sent to us; clearing your browser data removes them. How you first reached the site is kept in session storage until you close the tab, and is sent with each page-view count and with any enquiry. The public site sets no cookies. The owners' portal uses one cookie to keep a garage owner signed in.
Other services your browser contacts
Fonts load from Google Fonts on every page, so Google receives your IP address and browser details. If you open the map, its tiles load from OpenStreetMap. Links to WhatsApp, Google Maps and garages' own websites take you to services with their own privacy terms.
Garages and garage owners
The directory shows business facts compiled from public business listings: a workshop's name, address, phone number, website, location and the services its listing declares.
When an owner claims a listing in the owners' portal, we collect the owner's name, email and phone, a password (stored only as a hash), the garage's details and its trade licence. The licence is stored privately, seen only by our team to check the claim, and never published. A licence attached to a form on this site instead is emailed to our team inbox through FormSubmit. Edits and photos an owner submits appear on the site only after we approve them.
To correct or remove a listing, use the removal form or email [email protected].
How long we keep it, and your choices
We keep an enquiry while we are handling it and afterwards for our records. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it at any time: email [email protected] or message us on WhatsApp. We will delete it unless the law requires us to keep it.
