What "verified" means here

A badge that nobody defines is decoration. This page is the definition, so you can hold us to it.

The three checks. There are only three.

• Trade licence seen. We have looked at a current licence naming the business and covering vehicle repair activity. Each verified profile states the date we saw it.
• Address confirmed. The workshop is where the listing says it is.
• Contactable. Someone at the business answered and confirmed they want the listing.

What the badge does not mean

It is not a quality rating, a recommendation, an accreditation, or a statement about workmanship, pricing or warranty. We have not inspected the bays, watched a job, or audited a single invoice. A verified workshop can still do bad work, and if it does, that is between you and them — check the quote and the warranty before you approve anything.

Why there are no stars anywhere on this site

Ratings are only worth anything if the reviews behind them can be tied to real jobs. We do not yet have a way to prove that a reviewer was actually routed to that workshop, so we publish no ratings and no review counts at all. When we can prove it, we will publish it and explain the method. Until then, an absent number is more honest than an invented one.

Tiers we have not invented

There is one badge. There is no gold, no platinum, no "certified specialist", no "#1 in Al Quoz". Those are the things a directory adds when it wants something to sell, and every one of them would be a claim we cannot audit.
